Mold growth can buildup on most common surfaces such as sheetrock, wood, carpet, linoleum floor or any other organic material. Many homeowners are becoming more aware of the health hazards associated with mold contamination. Growth usually begins within 48 hours after the appropriate moisture content has been achieved. When a material is infested with mold, special care must be taken for removal, cleaning, and remediation to contain, clean, and prevent the unintentional spread of the mold spores.
Mold is a serious health risk. It can cause allergic reactions, watery, itchy eyes, a chronic cough, headaches or migraines, difficulty breathing, rashes, tiredness, sinus problems, nasal blockage and frequent sneezing. Insulation and ventilation:
Apart from mold damage, we also handle a lot of projects that have mold in bathrooms, and bedrooms caused by lack of proper ventilation and in-wall or crawl space insulation. It’s important not only to remediate the area properly, but also to know how to diagnose the source of the problem and fix it.
It can be by adding bathroom fan (we recommend one with moister sensor) or by adding insulation to walls, crawl spaces and attics as needed.
Our procedure in most mold remediation cases will include:
- Assessment of the affected areas
- Planning a course of action with the property owner/ manager
- Set up of containment barrier to prevent cross-contamination to unaffected areas
- Set up negative air machines/ air scrubbers in order to control and capture the contaminated air and produce clean and non-contaminated air
- Set up special drying equipment such as dehumidifiers to reduce the humidity levels and dry the structure
- Removal of the mold affected materials
- Detailed vacuuming using HEPA filters of the entire containment area
- Sanitizing and disinfecting of the entire containment area

Ido came by today, and after seeing our first issue he told us that our problem was too extensive for Swift to work on. Despite this, he took the time to go through the rest of the property with us to address our concerns and provide an estimate for what the work should cost. He also noticed new details that our inspectors hadn’t caught. He gave us references for remediation companies that operate at the scale that we need and answered all the questions we had about the remediation process and what we will need to do. He also told us he’d answer any further questions we had, and not to hesitate to reach out to him by phone or by email, even though he would not be doing any work for us.
All said, Ido went beyond what would have been expected of him and gave us a thorough estimation, and made himself accessible to us even though Swift was not the correct resource for our problem. We’re thankful to have had him come look at the property, and would recommend his character and service!

Just backing up what others have said. Ido came to our house to do a competitive bid on a remediation job. He did some moisture readings (which the other company did not do) and basically said we didn’t need his services. He suggested another course of action that made a lot of sense, and then left without collecting a dime.

Ido’s honest, professional opinion on his free visit saved me thousands of dollars. We had a mold report from a respected mold testing service that was concerning. Ido came to see about a remediation and saw no real signs of mold in the area we were worried about. He gave us suggestions of what else could have caused the original report results and what we could do before beginning any major remediation work. After these easy fixes we did ourselves, the same testing company retested with no dangerous mold detected. So even though we did not use their services, I would trust Swift with any remediation work if the need arose.

I recently had them to do some mold remediation in our basement bathroom and am very pleased with the work that they did. They go the extra mile and genuinely care about their customers and their health, no doubt! In the end, there was only mold in the carpeting (yes, someone had installed carpet in this bathroom), and I can rest easy knowing that it’s all cleaned up and there was no evidence of mold elsewhere.
